Quilting quilting quilting

First let me tell you about something that made me Squeeee like a little girl.....I am giving my first class of free motion quilting in 2 weeks!!!! Oh my I am excited and terrified at the same time. I have to make a plan for a 5 week class. Hopefully I won't crash and burn.

My plan this week is "NOT TO START ANYTHING NEW" (sorry I am screaming at myself) and free motion quilt my "Baby dragon" quilt, about time it has been on my "to do" list for 6 months.

Quilt my "Ugly Christmas Sweater" quilt. I had to pick out the first quilting first because I didn't liked to look of it and since it will hang in my booth at the Toronto Quilt Show I want it to look nice.

And finally quilt my "Spanish tiles" table runner

  1. Hi Yanicka - I love your baby dragon. He deserves your attention! I wish I was close enough to take your FMQ class. I really need to get going to doing that . . . and a 5 week class sounds perfect! ~smile~

  2. Oh! That must have been a lot of work to pick out all the quilting. But, if it doesn't look right to you now, it never will. Best of luck on the next quilting-go-round.

  5. Congratulations on the class. No need to be nervous. You do beautiful work. I'm a fairly new "follower", so I don't think I've seen the dragon quilt before. I am totally in love with it, though.

  6. Yanika - that baby dragon is too cute! I remember when my son was head over heels in love with dragons, and made him his one-and-only quilt. Fond memories! Thank you for sharing yours on Midweek Makers

  7. Your wee dragon pulled me in to have a look at your link he is so adorable and love the back-gound you built around him. Is he a design of your own. Thanks for sharing him. Cheers Glenda

  9. oh wow. such lovely quilt tops.

I practised quilting on "unimportant" quilt tops that I gave to children. Rather than just practise on calico. Kids don't know the difference, the quilts are used, loved and washed so much.
