On my wall this week

First this quilt.....it is a 2 years old UFO, I started quitling pebbles but I really didn't like the effect so I put it away until late last year when I decided to undo the quilting.........it really took forever but I finished this weekend. I plan to try to find a similar green fabric to replace the white fabric in the top right corner. After that I will appliqué some automn leafs......mainly to hide some booboo I did while taking off the quilting.

Second project, another UFO .....orange peel quilt....I got the template eons ago but never used it.

The little prince quilt top is done except the quote that I need to finish. The lucky recipient love it so I am happy.

  4. Love the colors in that quilt and it's already kitty approved! Like the colors on the orange peel blocks. Good luck with the progress.

  5. Seeing your kitty stretched out luxuriantly on your quilt made me think she would make a good applique pattern too Yanicka! I love the effect of your orange peels on the newspaper fabric. It looks like real newspaper bits.

    1. I love any kind of newspaper prints...I buy it by the half bolt :) Thank you, the kitty is my old lady Lolo. She is the first one to rub herself on any piece of fabric I put on the floor :)

  7. Applique can hide a multitude of sins. I've used it myself for the same reason.

  10. The newsprint fabric looks so real that, honestly, I wasn't sure. I love text fabric and was working hard to collect some. Now it seems to find me! What's up with that? The orange peels look great on it, so maybe that's a way to undo the collecting issue. Oh, one nice thing about UFO's is that when you come back to them, they don't take long to finish!

  12. I like the quilt you are finishing up, very much. The colors go great together, being boxed in adds a lot and overall, it's lovely. I don't know what you don't like about it but I can send you my address and you can send it over!!! LOL Great job, Yanicka

  13. I love your colors. And leaves in appliqué will make this quilt even more beautiful. (Aren't appliqués a great solution to hide past mistakes? I've been known to do that too. lol )
I find that your orange peels have a fresh air that would make a lovely summer quilt.
Thank you for participating to my Fabric, Thread and Yarn Link party. Have a good day!

  14. Undoing the quilting is a feat of patience! You are probably right - the straight lines in the pattern call for straight-line quilting, probably. Although someone seems to like your quilt even without any quilting ;))
